Due to the high temperatures, discolouration inevitably occurs in the area of the burner.
Strong discolouration is particularly likely to be seen on aluminium components in the area of the burner. However, the discolouration of aluminium is perfectly normal in light of its properties and the high temperatures/significant cooking residues to which it is subjected.
Clean your hob with a soft sponge cloth and a solution of hot water and washing-up liquid. Alternatively, use Miele ceramic and stainless steel cleaner.
